Soledad House

We recycled the metal sheet in the ceiling structure: wooden beam bring the load of a “sandwich” of a covering concrete layer, earth second layer and metal sheet third layer. An external stair connects the wooden space with a studio area upstairs. Light was the only constant we worked around this house: big sliding doors give the feeling of leaving outside under a lemon tree; and a big skylight gives to the space natural light all the day long. A adobe fence has been built with the same earth we got from the excavation of a underground water tank. Gray water are treated with papyrus plants before to be used for irrigation
